Our Process
At Ashley Aquilina, every Scar Camouflage treatment begins with a detailed consultation to assess the scar’s age, colour, texture and overall condition. Scars must be at least 12 months old and sufficiently healed before treatment can be considered. Scars that remain particularly pink, red or inflamed may not be suitable until further healing has taken place.
During the procedure, carefully selected pigments are implanted into the skin to help blend the scar with the surrounding area. The treatment is tailored to your natural skin tone and the individual characteristics of your scar. As every scar differs in size and complexity, treatment recommendations and pricing are provided following your consultation.
What to Expect
Following your Scar Camouflage treatment, you may experience temporary redness, sensitivity or mild swelling in the treated area as the skin begins to heal. Initial downtime is typically around 3–5 days, although complete healing and pigment settling can take longer.
It is important to keep the treated area dry for the first 72 hours and follow the personalised aftercare instructions provided. You will also receive a specialist aftercare ointment to support the healing process.
Results develop gradually as the pigment settles into the skin. Depending on the scar and how the pigment heals, additional sessions may be recommended to achieve the desired appearance.
